The Rust 2 Dust Rally is an adventure rally for ordinary people in extraordinary (read: terrible) cars. The idea is simple: the less you spend on your car, the higher you score. £999 is the scoring baseline, and every pound under it earns you points. Your car must pass scrutineering and make it to the start line.

Over seven days you'll drive down through France and Spain, cross the Strait of Gibraltar into Morocco, and finish in Marrakesh, all in a car that cost less than a decent sofa.

A portion of every entry fee goes directly to Dragonfly Cancer Trust, a UK children's cancer charity. Participants are also invited to dedicate their car to a child supported by Dragonfly.

THE £999 BASELINE

Your car's purchase price is scored against a £999 baseline: every pound under £999 earns a point, and paying over £999 costs you points. Purchase receipts are checked at scrutineering. Parts and repairs after purchase don't count, only the car's purchase price.

SCRUTINEERING

All cars must attend a mandatory scrutineering day before departure. Basic roadworthiness checks, safety equipment inspection, and purchase price verification. Date and location TBC approximately two weeks before the rally.

ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE

All participants must hold breakdown cover valid in France, Spain, Gibraltar and Morocco for the full rally period, 9-15 April 2027. Policy details are collected at registration.

Dragonfly Cancer Trust supports children and young people with cancer and their families across the UK, providing emotional support, practical help, and unforgettable experiences.

A portion of every entry fee goes directly to Dragonfly. Participants are also invited to dedicate their car to a child or family supported by the charity, and their name and story travels with you across Morocco and Spain.

HOW TO ENTER

Complete the online registration form with your car and driver details. Takes around 10 minutes.

DEPOSIT

Pay your £250 per person deposit by card as you register. Your place is confirmed the moment it clears.

PREPARE

Get your car rally-ready, sort your roadside cover, and attend the mandatory scrutineering day.
